Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Coating Technician Apprentice to support our extrusion department. This role assists with surface preparation, coating processes, and general shop support to ensure quality and efficiency in production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform sandblasting of extrusion components to prepare surfaces for coating
  • Assist with applying coatings, finishes, and protective materials per specifications
  • Clean, mask, and prep parts prior to blasting and coating
  • Inspect parts for quality, ensuring proper surface finish and coating application
  • Maintain and clean sandblasting and coating equipment
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
  • Support the extrusion team with general shop tasks and material handling
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.

Required Skills / Experience / Education: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Honest and hardworking
  • Previous experience in sandblasting, painting, coating, or manufacturing environment a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and work ethic
  • Dependable and punctual with good time management
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a shop/manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and safety awareness
  • Self-motivated with ability and desire to learn new skills
  • Career-minded individual who can grow in a stable work environment

Work Environment / Schedule: (as applicable)
This position primarily works within a climate-controlled manufacturing/shop setting with exposure to dust, noise, and industrial equipment. PPE is required. Will spend most of the day on your feet and working with your hands. The standard work schedule is full-time, Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.
